The Mariners are looking to clinch a key series against their division-rival Astros tonight.

The M’s won Game Two 4-2 yesterday thanks to a 3-run rally in the eighth inning.

Julio Rodriguez hit an infield single when a throwing error by the Astros scored Ryan Bliss and Josh Rojas to take the lead.

Luis Castillo was solid on the mound, allowing five hits and two runs through six innings.

Tayler Saucedo threw one scoreless inning of relief in his return from the injured list to get the win and Ryne Stanek earned the save with a perfect ninth inning against his former team.

The M’s will look to maintain their lead in the AL West tonight with George Kirby on the mound, as they face future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander.

The Seattle Storm kept up their hot play last night.

They beat the Chicago Sky 77-68 to pull above .500 for the first time since the 2022 season.

Skylar Diggins-Smith led the team with 21 points and Jewell Loyd added 19 in the win.

Chicago rookie Angel Reese posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for the Sky.

The Storm have won their last three games heading into tomorrow’s rematch against Caitlin Clark and the Fever in Indiana.

 

The Sounders are back tonight as they host the Western Conference-leading Real Salt Lake.

Seattle has been unbeaten in 7 of its last 8 matches after a rocky start to the season.

The sole loss came in a 2-0 shutout against Real Salt Lake on May 15.

Bellingham High School’s tennis team came up gold at the state tournament.

The Bayhawks’ duo of Ella Morrow and Kira Carlson won the 2A state doubles championship on Saturday to earn Whatcom County’s sole prep tennis title this spring.

 

And Western Washington University had a pair of top-10 finishers at the national track meet.

Junior Ila Davis finished eighth overall in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA D-II Outdoor Championships on Friday.

Junior Jeret Gillingham took 10th in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase finals.

Both runners earned All-American honors for their performances.
