Bryan Woo threw six shutout innings to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Mitch Garver backed him with two of the team’s four total hits, including a solo homer in the ninth to seal the win.

The A’s were limited to just two hits all game thanks to three perfect innings of relief from the Mariners’ bullpen.

Seattle didn’t walk a single batter all game.

It came a day after A’s pitcher Joey Estes took a perfect game into the seventh inning to help Oakland notch a 2-1 win.
The M’s have won 9 of their last 11 games entering this weekend’s series against the Kansas City Royals.

The Boston Celtics are hosting the Dallas Mavericks for Game One at TD Garden.

The Celtics owned the league’s best record in the regular season and have breezed through the playoffs with a 12-2 record in the East.

The Mavs have faced a tougher path to the finals, going through the West as the fifth-seed after making a mid-season turnaround with key additions at the trade deadline.

Jayson Tatum and the Celts are favored going into the series, but the Mavs could play spoiler led by Luka Doncic.

Expect the boos to reign in from Celtics fans when Kyrie Irving makes his return to Boston after a controversial exit in 2019.

The Bellingham Bells hammered the Kamloops NorthPaws 11-1 today to avoid the series sweep.

Ryan Beitel was lights out in the start, with just two baserunners allowed through six shutout innings.

The Bells backed him up at the plate with 12 hits and 10 walks in the dominant win.

Third baseman Nate Kirkpatrick continued his stellar campaign, going 3-5 with 4 RBI.

It was his third 3-hit game of the season.

Bellingham-native Bryce Johnson chipped in with two runs and two hits.

The Bells now even up to 3-3 before returning to Bellingham for the weekend.

They’ll face the Ridgefield Raptors in a three-game series starting tomorrow night.

First pitch is at 6:35 at Joe Martin Field.

 

The NHL’s newest franchise is one step closer to choosing its new name.

Utah’s hockey team has narrowed its search for a nickname down to six finalists ahead of the upcoming season.

The potential names include the Utah Blizzard, Utah Hockey Club, Utah Mammoth, Utah Outlaws, Utah Venom and Utah Yeti.

The names were determined through a first round of fan voting, with over 500,000 votes being cast.

Fans can vote on the new field of names through June 20.
