The Bellingham Bells and the North Division won yesterday’s West Coast League All-Star Game in epic fashion.

The South Division took a 2-0 lead into the seventh inning at Joe Martin Field before the North narrowed the gap to one run.

That set the stage for Kelowna Falcons All-Star Gavyn Jones to deliver a walk-off 2-run single, giving the North a win in the WCL’s first All-Star Game since 2019.

Bells All-Stars Nate Kirkpatrick and Connor Smith each singled for the North in their win.

But it was the Bells’ pitchers that came up clutch for the North, with their three All-Stars combining for four innings of one-run ball.

Bells reliever Nic Peterson – who was a late addition to the All-Star Game – threw a perfect final two innings to earn the win.

The Bells are back in action tonight, as they host the Cascade Collegiate League Showcase Team in a non-league matchup before getting back into league-play tomorrow.

First pitch for tonight’s game is at 6:35 from Joe Martin Field.

The Sounders kept their win streak rolling with a 2-0 win over St. Louis City last night.

Seattle used an own goal by St. Louis defender Tim Parker in the 29th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Sounders scored again four minutes into the second half when former St. Louis City defender Jonathan Bell made a header for his first goal with Seattle.

Stefan Frei finished with three saves on the way to his 112th career regular-season shutout – tying Kevin Hartman for second place on the all-time list.

The Sounders have won six straight and are unbeaten in their last eight matches.

They now sit at 10-7-7 on the season, good for sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

They’re back on Saturday to host second-place LAFC.

The Seattle Seahawks announced today that seven players have been placed on the physically unable to perform list ahead of next week’s training camp.

The list includes key offensive lineman Abraham Lucas, who played just six games last season while battling a knee injury.

It also included Jerome Baker and Tyrel Dodson, both of the Seahawks’ new offseason additions at linebacker who they hoped could replace Bobby Wagner and Jordyn Brooks.

Big news for Sonics fans.

Now that the NBA’s media deal has been finalized, the league’s top boss is hinting at expansion talks.

Commissioner Adam Silver told reporters at the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas that he and the league’s executives and owners will consider expansion this fall.

Silver said they’ll discuss whether the league should expand and, if so, how many teams should be added.

It has been 20 years since the NBA last expanded.

Seattle and Las Vegas are rumored to be the front runners if that were the case.

Seattle Storm legend Sue Bird is being honored with a signature Barbie doll.

Mattel announced that it has issued a replica Barbie doll based on the WNBA star’s career.

Bird played 21 seasons with the Storm, helping the franchise to four league titles.

She also has won five Olympic gold medals with the U.S. national team.

Bird retired after the 2022 season and is now part of Seattle’s ownership.

Mattel says the Sue Bird Barbie is part of its Role Model series as the doll celebrates its 65th anniversary.
