The Mariners are looking to get a fresh start in the beginning of their series against the Blue Jays tonight.

It comes after the M’s ended a rough series against the Orioles with a 7-3 win last night.

Julio Rodriguez and Mitch Garver each homered to back up a solid outing on the mound by Bryce Miller.

Baltimore struck first with two runs in the third inning, but Seattle evened it up in the fifth with a pair of runs of their own.

It was the seventh inning that sealed it for the M’s, who scored a five-run flurry that was spurred by a three-run double by J.P. Crawford to break the tie.

Ryne Stanek threw a perfect seventh inning to earn his sixth win of the season.

He has as many wins as any pitcher on their roster outside of George Kirby, who has seven.

It was a much needed win for a Mariners team that had lost 10 of its last 13 games heading into yesterday’s matchup, including its last four.

They’ll look to keep it up tonight against the Blue Jays with Luis Castillo on the mound.

Coverage begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 on KPUG.

The team also announced today that Catie Griggs has resigned as president of business operations.

Griggs arrived in Seattle in the summer of 2021 after four seasons as the chief business officer for Atlanta United in MLS.

She oversaw all aspects of the Mariners organization outside of baseball operations.

The team said Griggs is taking a new position on the East Coast to be closer to family.

Mariners chairman John Stanton will take over responsibilities on an interim basis until a new person is hired for the position.

The Seattle Storm are facing off against the Chicago Sky in a pair of games this weekend.

The Storm will look to push their win streak to six after tonight’s and Sunday’s games at Climate Pledge Arena.

They could find themselves in first place in the Western Conference after it’s over, as they currently sit just half a game back of the Minnesota Lynx.

This weekend’s games will also feature a pair of recently-announced All Star selections.

Seattle’s Nneke Ogwumike and Chicago’s Angel Reese were both named All Stars this week – Ogwumike for the ninth time and Reese for her first time as a rookie.

Plenty of Seattle soccer coming up this weekend.

The Sounders are hosting the New England Revolution at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Lumen Field.

Seattle’s looking to extend its unbeaten streak to five games and could get their head above .500 with a win.

They currently sit at 7-7-7 on the season.

The action at Lumen Field continues on Sunday, when the Seattle Reign host the Utah Royals at 3 p.m..

The Reign need a win to end their streak of three straight ties, and it comes against an opportune opponent.

Utah is the only team in the NWSL that has a worse record than Seattle, as both teams sit at the bottom of the league standings.

The Bellingham Bells lost to the Bend Elks 11-4 yesterday.

The Bells opened with three runs in the first inning, but it was all Bend from there to secure the sweep.

Four different Bells pitchers gave up multiple runs in a rough night for a normally sound bullpen.

Bellingham picked up 11 hits, but couldn’t capitalize to get their fourth straight loss.

The Bells are in Port Angeles tonight as they start their weekend series against the Lefties, who own the worst record in the West Coast League at 6-20.

First pitch is at 6:35.
