The Mariners are looking to end their disastrous road trip on a high note tonight.
The M’s fell to the Dodgers 6-3 last night after pinch-hitter Jason Heyward delivered a go-ahead 3-run homer in the eighth inning to cap off LA’s late-game rally.
The Mariners went up 3-0 early off a pair of RBI hits from Jorge Polanco in the first and third innings.
The Dodgers pulled within one in the fourth with a pair of solo homers before tying it in the seventh.
Heyward went on to hit the game-winning home run off All-Star closer Andres Munoz the next inning.
Prior to this road trip, Munoz hadn’t allowed a homer since May 18, but he’s now given one up in his last two closing appearances.
Fellow All-Star Logan Gilbert will look to help the Mariners avoid a sweep tonight and salvage a road trip that’s seen them go 1-7.
