BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Trail improvements will soon be coming to a part of south Bellingham.

Bellingham City Council approved a bid from Faber Construction on Monday night at their regular meeting, giving the “okay” for the company to begin improvements in the Hundred Acre Wood.

Plans include trail narrowing and resurfacing, native planting, building a habitat fence, a new bridge crossing over Hoag’s Creek and new boardwalks and park benches.

Faber was the lowest bid to be accepted according to Parks and Recreation Director Nicole Oliver.

“We’re happy to have Faber Construction on board,” Oliver said. “We are geared up and ready to get this thing going. We expect construction to start by the end of the month and finish by about February of [2026].”

The Lynden-based company has done a variety of building construction in Whatcom County and beyond.

Most recently, Faber is building the James Street roundabout and the New People’s Bank in Fairhaven.
