BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two men were arrested in connection to a suspected drive-by shooting in Bellingham.

Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says that the shots were fired at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and E Holly Street early Saturday morning. Officers at the Bellingham Police Station heard the shots and were directed by witnesses to the suspect vehicle’s direction of travel.

Lt. Murphy adds that officers conducted a high-risk stop on the suspect car at the intersection of E Chestnut and State Streets. A woman jumped out of the vehicle as soon as it stopped and left the area.

Officers arrested the driver, identified as a 28-year-old Bellingham man, and the passenger accused of firing the shots, identified as a 30-year-old man from San Diego.

Witnesses later told investigators that the three people in the car got into an argument with another man before the suspect fired shots into the air.

No one was injured, and officers impounded the suspect vehicle pending a search warrant.
