OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More companies could be in the mix over a generic drug price-fixing scheme.

Washington Attorney General Nick Brown says that settlement details are in the works between a coalition of over 40 states and two drug manufacturers.

A motion for a preliminary approval of the $400 million settlement with Sandoz Inc. and Fougera Pharmaceuticals was filed last week.

Both cases accuse the drugmakers of artificially inflating prices for consumers.

Washington residents who purchased generic prescription medication between May 2009 and December 2019 is encouraged to file a preliminary claim once the settlement.

Washington and Idaho businesses that purchased the impacted generic drugs during that same time period are also eligible for compensation.
