BELLINGHAM, WA. – (My BellinghamNow.com) Two more people overdosed at the winter shelter at Civic Field in Bellingham this week.
Bellingham Police logs show that officers responded to a pair of separate overdoses on Monday, Dec. 11 and Tuesday, Dec. 12. Both incidents follow another pair of overdoses, including one death, at Civic Field during the opening weekend of its winter shelter program earlier this month.
Road2Home, who is running the Civic Field camp from Dec. 1 to Feb. 29, works in partnership with the City of Bellingham and the Whatcom County Health and Community Services to offer nightly first come first serve shelter for people in need.
The shelter is open daily from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. and is located in the locker rooms under the scoreboard at Civic Field.
