BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Some parts of Western Washington are under air quality alerts.
Monitoring website IQ Air says that winds have blown wildfire smoke northwest from the Chelan, Wenatchee, and Yakima areas.
Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties are seeing the brunt of unhealthy and hazardous air quality.
Parts of western Whatcom and Skagit Counties are reporting moderate air quality due to that same smoke.
Rising temperatures could make the effects of any poor air quality worse.
If you have plans to travel to an area with unhealthy air, IQ Air suggests wearing a face mask if you’re immunocompromised.
