BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Next week’s Bellingham City Council meeting will have a few public hearings relevant to major city development.

At the meeting on June 3, the Transportation Improvement Program draft will go in front of the council. The program aims to prioritize pedestrians, bicycles and public transportation throughout Bellingham.

Next, the council plans to discuss Fairhaven’s building height restrictions and a plan that would create a multi-story mixed use project at Fairhaven’s dirt lot known commonly as “The Pit.”

The council may also extend a moratorium on development of multi-family zoned properties in Silver Beach for another six months.

Public hearings will be held during the 7 p.m. regular meeting in city council chambers.

Attendants can also join and voice their opinions over Zoom or via phone.
