BELLINGHAM, WA. – (MyBellinghamNow.com) Whatcom Transit Authority is planning on resuming bus service Thursday morning.
Current conditions and forecasts point to all of the fixed-route buses running again at their scheduled times.
The buses will be chained and are expected to be moving slower. Riders are encouraged to arrive on time and plan for possible delays.
Flex and Zone Services, or services that cater to areas outside of Bellingham and allow off-schedule stops, will not be offered until further notice. Lynden Hop, the by-request service scheduled on mobile app, will also not be offered until further notice.
Routes 1, 512 and 72X will have detours Thursday morning.
Route 1 will go on Boulevard Street both directions rather than northbound on State Street.
Route 512 will travel both directions on Lake Whatcom Boulevard instead of south-eastbound on Lake Louise Road.
And Route 72X is only running to the Kendall Fire Station, then transitioning to a smaller bus to service the neighborhoods.
WTA is still recommending paratransit riders cancel or reschedule plans until road conditions improve. They are also advising riders check for altered operating hours due to the weather.
If you have any questions regarding Thursday morning detours, you are encouraged to call the WTA at 360-676-7433.
You can also call WTA’s phone number to request an emergency ride home if you rode the bus earlier Wednesday.
