BELLINGHAM, WA. – (MyBellinghamNow.com) First it was milk, then it was eggs, and now the price of stamps is going up.
The United States Postal Service says they will increase the price for a Forever Stamp from 66 cents to 68 cents starting on Sunday, January 21st.
Metered letters will also see a one cent increase, while domestic and international postcards will increase in price by two cents and five cents respectively.
The Postal Service says the increases are necessary because of inflation and the need to achieve financial stability outlined in their Delivering for America 10-year plan.
In addition, USPS says they are exploring price adjustments for Special Services like Certified Mail, Post Office box rentals, money orders and the cost to purchase mail insurance.
