OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Firefighters from Washington are being sent to fight wildfires in Southern California.
The Washington Emergency Management Division says that they’ll be recruiting at least 146 personnel to fight the wind-fanned flames near Los Angeles.
45 engines and 11 trucks will also be sent to California.
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has also made plans to send equipment and volunteers.
Outgoing Gov. Jay Inslee said that he’s been in contact with California Governor Gavin Newsom and will be prepared to send any other aid if needed.
