PORT TOWNSEND, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A new grant opportunity with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is now taking applications.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has begun to accept applications for their wildlife diversity grant.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 1, people affiliated with public, non-profit, academic or tribal entities can apply for funding for projects that benefit Washington’s at-risk wildlife. The projects must plan to take place between June of 2025 through June of 2027.
In all, WDFW has about $2 million to fund projects in the 2025-2027 biennium. They anticipate funding ten to 15 projects with awards ranging between $40,000 and $400,000.
Applications are due Jan. 19, 2025, and decisions on which proposals receive funding will be announced in May.
Funding for these grants comes from investments the state legislature made to restore and protect biodiversity.
