BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Cooler temperatures will be sticking around western Washington for a while.
The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says that aside from the cold, a few rain showers are expected on Thursday afternoon.
More active weather systems are forecast to move in next week, likely bringing rain to western Whatcom County and snow to the Cascades.
The county’s severe weather shelter on N. Forest Street in Bellingham will be open on Jan. 22 with check-in from 4-9 p.m. Guests will need to check out by 9 a.m. the following morning.
Ferndale’s shelter is also open for guests tonight through Jan. 28, with check-in starting at 5:30 p.m.
And the Lighthouse Mission has available space for guests with check-in starting at 7 p.m. and check-out the next morning at 8 a.m.
