BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A storm coming to our area over the weekend could affect your plans.

The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says you can expect to see primarily gusty winds in Whatcom County in addition to some rain.

Friday night into Saturday morning will see maximum gust speeds up to 45 mph in Bellingham and 30 mph in Lynden. NWS adds that winds will taper off throughout Saturday.

Precipitation throughout the weekend will be minimal, with up to 1 inch predicted in a three-day period for both Bellingham and Lynden.

Snow will come to our mountains with up to 4 feet predicted at Mount Baker over this weekend.

Though some river rising is predicted, no rivers in our region are predicted to flood.
