BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A windstorm is ramping up to impact the region this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says that up to 50 mph wind gusts are predicted for Bellingham and 40 mph up in Lynden. They have issued a wind advisory in effect from 1 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
NWS also wants residents to be aware of high tides and some precipitation coming this weekend.
A minor coastal flooding advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday for western Whatcom County.
Up to 1″ of rain is predicted for Lynden, with half an inch or less is predicted for Bellingham throughout the weekend.
No river flooding is expected according to the weather service.
