WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Wet weather is making its way back to our region.

The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says that an atmospheric river is forecast to dump rain across our region starting this weekend.

It doesn’t appear that western Whatcom and Skagit Counties will be oversaturated, though. The system is expected to dump heavy precipitation across the North Cascades.

Temperatures are also forecast to cool next week, meaning that heavy snowfall is most likely for the mountains.

The NWS also predicts strong winds will be back in the forecast by Wednesday.
