WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Through the weekend into next week, Whatcom County residents can expect consistent precipitation, wind and grey skies as the winter season approaches.
The next five days are forecast to be rainy with little lull between showers. The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) is forecasting rain and wind from Saturday, Nov. 9 until Wednesday, Nov. 13. Up to 2″ of rain is forecasted to hit Bellingham with 2-3″ in Lynden until Tuesday.
Steady rainfall is expected for Sunday night into Monday before transitioning to more showers late Monday into Tuesday.
Area rivers are not expected to flood, though the NWS is advising drivers to remain alert for ponding on roadways.
Snow is also predicted for the Cascades, with upwards of 36″ expected for Mount Baker into next week.
The NWS is also forecasting moderate surf conditions on Monday and Tuesday, with waves reaching around 3′.
