MAPLE FALLS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Skiers and snowboarders are in for another big snow dump this weekend as the season nears its end.
The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for the west slopes of the North Cascades from 5 a.m. on Saturday through 11 a.m. on Sunday.
During that time, forecasters say elevations above 2,000 ft. will get 12-18″ of snow. Several local areas, like Deming, Maple Falls and the Mount Baker Ski Area are included in the advisory.
Meanwhile, anyone traveling over Stevens or Snoqualmie pass should be cautious.
NWS says travel could be very difficult to impossible.
