BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A convicted member of a drug ring that operated in Whatcom County has been sentenced.
As part of a plea deal, 27-year-old Edwin Vite-Delgado will be in prison for three and a half years, followed by three more years of community custody. Vite-Delgado was among four others arrested earlier this year in connection to the drug ring, which operated out of two Everett apartments. Over 71 pounds of narcotics were seized from the apartments and associated vehicles.
Vite-Delgado pled guilty on Dec. 19 to three counts of drug possession and distribution.
Another co-conspirator, 34-year-old Austin Grimme, was arrested in connection to the drug ring in May. He was accused of manufacturing firearms with a 3D printer, but those charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal in a separate case. Grimme was transferred to Dept of Corrections custody last month to serve a nearly 19-year sentence on burglary, drug and firearm possession charges.
The three other drug ring suspects remain at the Whatcom County Jail.
