WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Home sale prices in Whatcom County saw their biggest drop in two years over the summer.
That’s according to a new report on third quarter home sales by Bellingham-based Muljat Group broker Adrik Brashear.
He says the median price of a home fell to just under $624,000, which was over four percent lower than the same time last year. That’s the biggest percentage decrease the county has seen since the second quarter of 2023.
Median prices were down in every area except for Nooksack Valley and Sudden Valley.
Meanwhile, the overall number of homes sold shot up in both valleys but slumped in Ferndale and Mount Baker.
Brashear projects that declining prices, higher inventory and lower interest rates will make for an attractive market for local homebuyers this fall and winter.
