BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputy was injured after their patrol car hit another vehicle.

WSP says the crash occurred in foggy conditions on the corner of Hannegan and Axton Rds around 8 am Tuesday.

The deputy, who was headed south on Hannegan, was unable to avoid hitting a minivan after it drove through a stop sign on Axton Rd.

Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.

The minivan driver was cited for failure to yield, driving without a license, and driving without insurance.
