WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The first day of fall is Monday, Sept. 22 and that means it’s peak apple picking season in Whatcom County.

Bellewood Farms, located at 6140 Guide Meridian in Lynden, and Sm’Apples Orchard, located at 1197 Willeys Lake Road in Ferndale both offer family-friendly apple picking experiences.

Bellewood’s season kicked off on Aug. 30 and runs until Oct. 31.

Their 62-acre orchard also includes a corn maze, a bin train ride, apple cider donuts, a market and a distillery.

Sm’Apples will offer picking until Nov. 22, plus apple cider, unfiltered honey and other fresh produce for sale.
