WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Wintry weather over the next few days could impact your holiday travel plans.

The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says a stronger weather system is expected to move across our region starting on Tuesday and lasting into Thanksgiving.

The impacts of this weather system in lowland Whatcom County will be mainly limited to periodic rain and wind.

But forecasters say snow-covered roads across the Cascade passes could make for some travel delays, especially on Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

The Snoqualmie Pass and Stevens Pass could both see more than six inches of snow over the next two days, with the possibility of freezing rain on Wednesday.

Precipitation over the passes is expected to taper off on Friday.
