BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A trial has been set for the woman accused of vandalizing the Whatcom County courthouse.
29-year-old Victoria Coe pleaded not guilty on Dec. 5 to four charges, including burglary and malicious mischief, which are both felonies.
The woman was originally booked into jail on Nov. 17 for obstructing an officer and resisting arrest but was released around midnight. Sheriff’s deputies say video surveillance showed Coe breaking into the courthouse as she left the jail early that morning.
They say she went on to spend nearly five hours vandalizing items and spreading debris, causing over $5,000 in damage.
Coe’s jury trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 21, 2025.
If she’s found guilty, she could face up to 10 years in prison.
