BURLINGTON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A woman from Bow is in custody after Washington State Patrol (WSP) says she injured a trooper during a pursuit near Burlington.
WSP says the trooper tried to stop a maroon BMW with no license plates on SR 20 the afternoon of Dec. 16. The driver fled before coming to a brief stop on Maiben Road.
The trooper stopped ahead of the BMW to block the roadway, but the suspect drove forward and hit the trooper’s open door, pinning their leg between the patrol car and the door.
The suspect driver escaped and was later identified by State Patrol investigators with help from the Burlington Police Department.
Detectives arrested the 37-year-old woman at her house on Dec. 17 and booked her into the Skagit County Jail.
