SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An assault at a political rally in Snohomish County sent a woman to jail just before Election Day.

The Edmonds Police Department says that the suspect, identified as an 82-year-old woman, yelled at several participants in a conservative political rally on Monday, Nov. 4.

One of the rallygoers, a 55-year-old woman, told officers that the suspect shoved her and punched her in the face. Another woman attempted to separate the two and was also punched by the suspect.

When questioned by police, the suspect admitted to assaulting the other women because of their race and political beliefs.

She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on hate crime and assault charges.
