WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An East Wenatchee woman has been sentenced for killing a woman in a drunk driving crash in Whatcom County in 2022.
22-year-old Annastacia Lough pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in Whatcom County Superior Court on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Lough spend the next six and a half years in jail, followed by a year and a half in community custody.
Court documents state that Lough was driving the wrong way on SB I-5 for several miles on February 1st, 2022, when she hit another car head-on near the Nulle Road exit. The driver of the second car, 31-year-old Stephanie Chinn, died from her injuries at the hospital.
A sample taken of Lough’s blood found that her BAC was twice the legal limit.
She was arrested on February 16, 2023, over a year after the incident.
As part of her sentencing, Lough will also undergo an evaluation for substance use disorder and pay legal fees and restitution.
