SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A California woman has been sentenced for assaulting a toddler on a flight to Sea-Tac.
U.S. Attorney Tessa Gorman says 33-year-old Breanna Mistler will spend one year under federal supervision after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge today (Wednesday).
According to the criminal complaint, several passengers saw Mistler hitting, kicking and shaking the 2-year-old girl she was sitting next to on the flight from Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.
She was arrested at Sea-Tac when her flight arrived and was held at a federal detention center for about three weeks before being released.
Her attorney told the court that Mistler is now “sober and remorseful” and has supervised visits with the young girl.
She will begin serving a four-month sentence in California for an unrelated arson conviction in September.
