BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A woman who fatally ran over a Deming man with a car in Bellingham’s Irongate neighborhood has been sentenced.

27-year-old Rayven Butler-Washington pled guilty to a second-degree murder charge in November.

In May 2022, Butler-Washington and her boyfriend, Pablo Rabang, had gotten into an argument after a third person refused to sell the pair drugs. Butler-Washington got into a car and ran over Rabang at a high rate of speed before leaving the area. Rabang was found dead in the middle of the road later that morning.

Property left near the scene of the crime was traced back to Butler-Washington, who was arrested nearly two weeks after the incident.

She was sentenced to just over 10 years in prison Thursday, followed by another three years of community custody. Whatcom County Jail records show she has since been transferred to Dept. of Corrections custody.
