The strike by Operational Student Employees began at 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

It comes as the Lynden School Board is scheduled to discuss the topic at its meeting on Thursday, May 1.
It comes after the university was forced to make a series of cost-cutting measures last fall.
Union representatives say the cuts will likely result in higher tuition and threaten the university’s most vulnerable workers.
