City council members voted to keep Bellingham’s parking minimums suspended through summer 2026.

According to the state Attorney General’s Office, more than 23,000 borrowers from Washington had $1.6 million in student loans forgiven under the program over the past four years.

Ferguson says the funding will be available to food banks starting on Nov. 3 and will continue weekly until SNAP funding is restored.

The Secretary of State’s Office says it can’t guarantee that ballots mailed in the final week leading up to the election will be postmarked on time.

In addition to guided tours, health officials will give a presentation before taking questions or comments.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the department pulled the funding in September because the program curriculum mentioned diverse gender identities.

According to Gov. Bob Ferguson, roughly 1 million Washington residents use SNAP benefits every month to buy food.

The county council will vote to approve the relocation at its meeting on Nov. 5 and the move is expected to be made as early as summer 2026.

The new director previously served as the director of strategic initiatives within the Commissioner’s Office. 

It comes as more than half of the fatal crashes in Washington between 2017 and 2021 involved impaired drivers.
