WSDOT estimates that more than 650 vehicles travel each day to visit Artist Point once it reopens each summer. 

The new bike lanes removed a significant amount of room for street parking on Eldridge, but Public Works found in their project report that most side streets have ample space for parking.

Sen. Patty Murray called the decision “outrageous” and a “dangerous politicization of disaster assistance.”

Preliminary funding data shows that the new bridge could be completed by 2028.

Randhawa says the moves, while difficult, will make the university sustainable in the long term while preserving key student services and academic quality.

They’ll both take effect on Aug. 1 for any new leases and lease renewals.

If the parole board rejects his appeal, it’s possible that additional time could be added to his sentence. 

Bellingham City Council announced it will be holding a public hearing on a potential land annexation on July 21.

In exchange for the settlement, the lawsuit is dismissed with prejudice, preventing future litigation against the city on the matter.
