The Island County Sheriff’s Office announced the night of Jan. 9 that it has closed its investigation into the 2003 murder of Tammy Mattson.

The motorcyclist was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center but later released to the Whatcom County Jail, where he is currently held without bail.
