BELLINGHAM, WA – Mayor Seth Fleetwood is celebrating a major step in bringing a new waterfront experience to the Bellingham community.
The city announced they have secured all necessary permits to redevelop the over-100-year-old pier at Little Squalicum Park.
The pier was originally built in 1912 for the purpose of loading products onto offshore barges but has been out of operation since 1987.
Once renovations are completed the pier will offer 1200 feet of public access out into the Bay which Mayor Fleetwood said he is thrilled to bring to visitors to our waterfront.
Now that the permits have been secured final design is underway and construction is expected to start in 2024.
