Don Lashua, a native of Bellingham, WA, peacefully passed away on February 26th, 2024.
Don was born in Bellingham on July 15th, 1932, to Ray and Millie Lashua. His roots were firmly planted in Bellingham, where he attended Bellingham High School, graduating in 1950, before embarking on a career managing a glass company.
Among his cherished memories were the times spent camping and fishing with his sons. A true craftsman, Don’s passion for woodworking shone through as he and his children handcrafted cedar strip canoes, not only exquisite in their beauty but also providing endless joy during fishing expeditions.
His green thumb extended to gardening, adorning his yard with beauty, especially during the festive seasons, where his knack for holiday decorations brought joy to many.
Renowned for his generosity and helpfulness, Don’s diverse interests led him to become a jack of all trades. An avid reader and studious individual, he shared his wealth of knowledge with others, particularly his grandchildren whom he mentored with care and dedication.
Don is survived by his devoted wife, Myrna Lashua, his sons Brad Lashua, Brett Lashua, Jim Lashua (Jenni), his sister Marilyn Hupp, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
