BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A suspected fentanyl dealer from Blaine has been arrested following a routine traffic stop.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says deputies pulled a car over in north Bellingham at around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, for speeding. While deputies were talking to the driver, they noticed a small baggie inside the car containing a white powdery substance they believed to be fentanyl.
After the man let deputies search his car, they found a scale, baggies, nearly $890, more suspected fentanyl and other drugs. The man then admitted that some of the money was made from selling drugs.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 66-year-old Nicholas Roder of Blaine.
He was booked into the Whatcom County Jail early Tuesday, Oct. 2, where he remains without bail.
