WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – As Thanksgiving is just around the corner, holiday festivities and lively events are bustling all over Whatcom County.
Get ahead of season shopping by attending one of the many holiday markets happening in the region this weekend. Vendor craft fairs in Deming, Blaine and Marysville are ongoing Nov. 16 to 17.
Local artisans, creatives, food, drinks and live music are guaranteed as you peruse pop-ups for Christmas gifts and hand-made wares. Check out a schedule of holiday bazaars happening through the month of November to jump on shopping early.
The Downtown Bellingham Partnership is hosting their annual Holiday Wine Walk on Friday, Nov. 15 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will visit 18 different pop-up tastings showcasing a range of regional wines through downtown.
Attendees will receive tasting tickets to redeem or samples of various wines and can purchase their favorite bottles on the spot.
The event will be heavily wine influenced with notes of light snacks offered at several locations throughout. General admission is $45 and VIP is $65.
Feel like moving some more after wine-walking? A Turkey Trot Fun Run is taking place at Bellewood Acres on Nov. 16.
Whether you want to walk, run or trot, join in on this excursion to raise funds for the Meridian High School Cross-Country Team. Runners are encouraged to bring water, a jacket and even dress up as the holiday bird. The race is on regardless of rain or shine.
This week’s live music feature is an intimate show at The Wild Buffalo in downtown Bellingham. Experience an evening with Mason Jennings as he brings his unique taste of folk and acoustic music to the region on Friday night.
