Western now moves on to face top-seeded Cal Poly Pomona at 1 p.m on Saturday.

The Kraken are hitting their road trip this weekend with momentum following a strong homestand.

Seattle beat the Nashville Predators 3-0 last night for their first shutout win of the season.

Daniel Sprong, Brandon Montour and Yanni Gourde all scored and Joey Daccord stopped 24 shots in the win.

The Kraken went 5-1 over their recent six-game homestand to recover from losing seven of their last eight games entering it.

They’re now tied for 8th place in the Western Conference with 21 points.

The Kraken are hitting the road for a quick two game trip to California, starting with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

The Seahawks are getting a key piece of their secondary back for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

Starting safety Rayshawn Jenkins was a full participant in practice yesterday.

He’s missed their past four games after being placed on the injured reserve with a hand injury in mid-October.

At the time he went on the IR list, he was third on the team in tackles and made history with the longest fumble recovery touchdown in team history.

Big news for Geno – and no, not the Seahawks’ starting quarterback.

UCONN women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma became the all-time winningest basketball coach in NCAA history last night.

His Huskies routed Fairleigh Dickinson 85-41 to mark his 1,217th win – a record for any division of the NCAA, men’s or women’s.

His unparalleled coaching career has included 11 national titles, six undefeated seasons and separate win streaks of 98 and 111 games.

A former star from Seattle U has won the award for baseball’s best pitcher.

Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers was unanimously selected for the American League Cy Young award last night.

Skubal led the AL in wins, strikeouts and earned run average last season to earn the pitching Triple Crown.

He threw three seasons at Seattle U in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Skubal also competed against the Bellingham Bells at one point when he played for the West Coast League’s Kitsap BlueJackets, based out of Bremerton, WA.
