The Seahawks will spend a second straight offseason looking for a new offensive coordinator.
Mike Macdonald confirmed today that Ryan Grubb has been fired after one season with the team.
Grubb was hired from the University of Washington along with Huskies offensive line coach Scott Huff in what was both of their first jobs in the NFL.
Huff’s status with the team going forward is currently unclear.
The Seahawks are in need of a recharge on offense after ranking 21st in offensive scoring and 28th in rushing yards.
Macdonald says the search for Grubb’s replacement will begin immediately.
The Seahawks were still able to end their season on a high note in LA yesterday.
Geno Smith threw for 223 yards and a career high 4 TDs and the Hawks edged the Rams 30-25.
The Rams rested Matthew Stafford and nearly all of their offensive starters to stay healthy for a home playoff game against Minnesota next weekend.
The Seahawks won six of eight to close their first season under coach Mike Macdonald with a 10-7 record.
Seattle was the only team in the NFL to win 10 games and still miss the playoffs.
The Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs is set.
The Chargers and Texans kick off next weekend’s slate in LA on Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens host the Steelers later that night in a matchup between division rivals.
The Bills and Broncos face off in Buffalo on Sunday morning.

The Kraken are looking to finish their homestand strong tonight in a matchup against the Devils.
Seattle fell to the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Saturday after the Oilers got off to a quick 3-0 start.
The struggling Kraken have now dropped seven of their last nine matches and sit near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Tonight could be an opportune time to get back on track against a New Jersey Devils team that has lost four straight.

The Huskies men lost a tight one yesterday.
UW came up short in a comeback bid and fell to #22 Illinois 81-77.
The Fighting Illini led by 17 at one point and the Huskies fought back to tie it at 75 with just under a minute left.
But Illinois broke the tie on a layup with 30 seconds to go to win their fourth straight game.
The Huskies now drop to 10-5 and 1-3 in Big Ten play ahead of their road match against #16 Michigan State this Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Washington State men beat San Francisco on Saturday to earn their fourth straight win.
Western Washington University’s basketball teams are seeing very different results for the New Year.
The Western women opened 2025 with a pair of road wins over GNAC opponents Western Oregon and Saint Martin’s to improve to 8-5 on the season.
The Viking men haven’t found as much success after falling in a pair of home matches to Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska Anchorage.
Sophomore guard Tijan Saine was a bright spot in Saturday’s loss to Anchorage, scoring a career-high 29 points with 5 steals.
But the Viks still dropped to 8-6 on the season and a dismal 0-4 in conference play.

The Lynden girls continued their undefeated campaign with a 60-18 drubbing of Mount Vernon.
The Lynden boys followed with a 76-53 win over Mount Vernon.
The Meridian boys beat Mount Baker 58-40.
The Trojan girls also beat Baker 56-48.
The Lummi boys handled La Conner 62-42.
The Lummi girls lost a tight one to Pateros 48-46.
The Nooksack Valley girls topped Bellingham 58 to 26.
And the Bayhawk boys edged Nooksack 81-74.
