CHUKCANUT BAY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Washington’s oldest state park is getting a water line upgrade.

Crews will replace aging water lines throughout Larrabee State Park, including some pipes that may be nearly as old as the 111-year-old park itself.

Washington State Parks says the project will improve water distribution, reduce maintenance emergencies and enhance the visitor experience.

To accommodate the work, the campground will close Sept. 15 and remain closed through June 15, 2027.

Day-use facilities may be available at times during construction, while the boat launch, Cleator Road, Clayton Beach and the Lost Lake parking lot will remain open.

Park officials say visitors should expect changing conditions throughout the project and are encouraged to contact the park directly for updates.
