Western Washington University’s Carmen Dolfo has reached an incredible career milestone.

The Vikings’ women’s basketball coach earned her 700th career win on Saturday when the Viks used a fourth-quarter comeback to take down Central Washington 67-65.

Western trailed by 11 points entering the fourth quarter, but went on a 17-2 run to put them back in the game.

Lynden Christian alum Demi Dykstra made the go-ahead bucket for the Vikings with 43 seconds left and Maddy Grandbois iced the game with three key free throws.

The Lady Viks now improve to 9-6 on the season and 4-2 in conference play, good for third in the GNAC standings.

Meanwhile, the Viking men defeated Montana State Billings 84-70 on Saturday to earn their first GNAC win and snap a three game skid.

There was a whole lot more college basketball action over the weekend.

The #16 Gonzaga men beat Washington State 88-75 on Saturday in their first meeting with both schools in the West Coast Conference.

The Huskies men suffered their third straight defeat in a 91-75 loss to #24 Michigan.

And the Lady Huskies lost to #20 Michigan State 80-68 to snap their five-game win streak.

The Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs is nearly complete.

The Texans began the weekend with a statement win over the Chargers before the Ravens conquered their division rival Steelers in the late game.

Yesterday, the Bills and Eagles each earned wins before the Commanders edged the Buccaneers on a last second field goal that doinked off the goal post.

As it stands, the Chiefs host the Texans, Bills host the Ravens and Lions host the Commanders for the Divisional Round next weekend.

The final game of the opening round kicks off tonight, with the LA Rams facing the Minnesota Vikings.

The game will be played at a neutral field in Glendale, AZ due to the wildfires affecting LA County.

The winner of tonight’s game will travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles next Sunday.

Coverage begins at 4:30 and kickoff is at 5:15 on KPUG.

The Kraken were on both ends of blowout wins over the weekend.

Seattle started with a commanding 6-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.

Both teams were tied going into the third period, but recent addition Kaapo Kakko scored twice to lead a four-goal period for the Kraken, who snapped a four-game skid with the win.

Unfortunately, the momentum didn’t carry into the second match of their back-to-back.

The Detroit Red Wings scored the first six goals of the game in a 6-2 win over the Kraken yesterday.

It was the red-hot Red Wings’ seventh-straight win.

The struggling Kraken have now lost 10 of their last 13 heading into tomorrow night’s match against the Penguins.

Former Mariners manager Scott Servais is back in the big leagues.

The Athletic reports that Servais is joining the San Diego Padres as a special assistant in player development.

It comes after the 57-year-old was fired as skipper of the M’s in August, ending his nine year tenure with the team.
