WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Some residents in north Whatcom County have reported feeling tremors of an earthquake that struck northwest of Vancouver, B.C. at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

The U.S. Geological Survey rates the earthquake that struck near the town of Sechelt at magnitude 4.8.

The CBC in Vancouver says Canada’s earthquake monitoring agency rates it at 5.1.

It was a medium intensity quake at an approximate depth of 10 kilometers. There are no reports of damage at this time.
