Seahawks News

The Seahawks are rounding out Week 8 of the NFL season tonight with a primetime showdown.

They’re hosting the Chicago Bears in a meeting between two of the top teams in the NFC. It will pit a lockdown Seahawks defense that’s allowing the least yards per game to opponents against a high-octane Bears offense that’s averaging the third-most.

Tonight also features the return of two key running backs for Seattle, with Zach Charbonnet making his season debut from a torn ACL and Jadarian Price coming off the injured reserve.

Coverage begins at 3:00 and kickoff is at 5:20 on KPUG.

Huskies/Cougs News

The Huskies picked up a thrilling win over the weekend.

They beat Nebraska 17-10 on the road Saturday to earn their second Big Ten win of the season. UW had just three points entering the 4th quarter before Demond Williams Jr. entered the game to throw a 25-yard touchdown and safety Alex McLaughlin followed with a 48-yard pick six to shock the Cornhuskers.

The Huskies improved to 5-3 and return home to face Penn State this Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Cougs’ struggles continued in a 26-20 loss to San Diego State. It was their sixth straight loss as they remain at the bottom of the new-look Pac-12 standings.

They have the week off to regroup before hosting Colorado State on Nov. 14.

It came as a former Washington State standout and beloved Seahawk passed away over the weekend.

The Seahawks announced yesterday that Dan Doornink died at the age of 70. His family says it followed an ongoing battle with two rare and chronic autoimmune diseases.

The former running back played seven seasons with the Seahawks before practicing medicine in Yakima post-retirement.
