CLEVELAND, OH (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Grunge royalty is back in the spotlight to receive a high honor.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced their 2025 inductees, and Soundgarden made the list.
Formed in 1986, Soundgarden brought a harder edge to the grunge scene, melding heavy metal and alternative rock to create a sound signature to the short-lived music genre.
The band produced several studio albums as well as a couple live albums until lead singer Chris Cornell’s untimely death in 2017. They had a hiatus in the 2000’s as well, where members pursued other projects such as Audioslave and collaborations with other grunge musicians.
Soundgarden will be the third band from the Seattle grunge scene to make it into the hall of fame, following Nirvana in 2014 and Pearl Jam in 2017.
Other inductees this year include The White Stripes, Outkast, Cyndi Lauper and Joe Cocker.
The ceremony for the induction will be Nov. 8 this year.
