MOSCOW, ID (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bryan Kohberger has agreed to plead guilty to the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students.

ABC News reports the 30-year-old former criminology student at Washington State University will accept a deal that spares him the death penalty.

Instead, he’ll serve four consecutive life sentences without parole and waive his right to appeal. The agreement also seeks restitution for the victims and their families.

Kohberger was charged in the fatal stabbings of Ethan Chapin of Skagit County and three Idaho women at an off-campus home in Moscow, ID. Two roommates survived the attack.

The formal plea is expected July 2nd.
