YAKIMA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Four Whatcom County teams still have a shot at state championships in their respective classes as the high school tournament continues Friday.

The Lynden girls booked their ticket to the 2A semifinals with a win over Deer Park Thursday. The top seeded Lions beat the 2nd seeded Stags 58-33 to win their 73rd straight game. They’ll face 4th-seeded Clarkston in the semis at 3:45 Friday afternoon.

The 2nd-seeded Lynden Christian boys topped 8th-seeded Seattle Christian 84-56 Thursday. The Lyncs now advance to the 1A semifinals where they’ll play 6th-seeded King’s Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The Lynden Christian girls won a double-overtime thriller against a resilient Annie Wright team to stay in contention for the 1A title. The 3rd seeded Lyncs will face 2 seed Zillah in the semis Friday at 9 p.m.

In Yakima, the Lummi boys continue their drive to defend their state title against DeSales after downing Neah Bay Thursday. They’ll play for a shot at the title game Friday at 3:45p.m.

The Lummi girls came up short against Garfield-Palouse in the quarterfinals and will play Yakima Tribal Friday at 2 p.m. with hopes of a fourth-place tournament finish.
