CUSTER, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in the case of a Custer man who has been missing for nearly eight years.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says Billy Joe Darwin was last seen at his home on Valley View Road on the early morning of Nov. 16, 2018.

He was 39 years old when he went missing.

At the time of his disappearance, Darwin stood 5 ft, 10 inches tall and weighed 121 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last known to be wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, a brown coat and black shoes.

Sheriff’s office spokesperson Deb Slater says nothing specific prompted the public outreach on Monday, Sept. 14, as the agency will consider cold cases based on available resources.
